I met Ken shortly after he won his first Worlds. We really weren’t sponsoring players at that point. He chose to play with Innova on his own and really didn’t start getting anything until after he had won a few worlds.
Ken is awesome for several reasons. He is a natural jock, who is good at many sports, not just disc golf. He is very competitive and believes in himself. He practices what he needs to practice in order to win. In other words, if he has a weakness that is hurting him competitively, he puts time and effort into making that weakness a strength. He also plays smart. He was always one of the best at course management. One example of this is the “Climo drive”. The Climo drive is a low line drive that makes it hard to get in trouble off the tee.
