Yes, the Roller is definitely something that any player should learn if they are looking to increase the development of the game. It’s not a throw that I personally use a lot, except for on wide open courses with nice manicured fairways.

Typically a broken in, understable disc works the best for throwing roller shots because they’re able to turn over fairly easy into the ground to produce the roller. You also have to keep in mind that you need to really lean back during the arm swing to create that incredible arching angle with your body, which also allows you to create that turn over angle with the disc.

This is a very athletic move that requires lots and lots of practice in order to perfect. I totally agree that an instructional video should be done on the roller shot because it’s challenging to try to describe in writing, but best shown in action.
